Militants of the Hamas terrorist organization managed to destroy several Israeli Merkava tanks during the hostilities on October 7.

The footage released by the terrorists shows that the tanks were damaged by grenade launchers and drones.

The ammunition used was a PG-7VR rocket-propelled grenade, which was dropped from the air on one of the combat vehicles. Armored vehicle researcher Andriy Tarasenko identified the munition.

After the hit, a fire could be seen on the right side at the front of the tank.

The Telegram channel of the Hamas terrorist movement published a photo of another Merkava tank showing the consequences of the damage. The tank has damage to the turret in the area near the barrel. It is worth noting that this is one of the most protected areas of the tank.

Flames and traces of fire can also be seen on the tank’s left side after being hit in an unknown way.

The terrorists also filmed the hit to an Israeli tank from an anti-tank grenade launcher. The Iranian-made PG-7T tandem ammunition hit the left side of the Merkava’s hull under the turret. It is not known whether it disabled the tank.

It is worth noting that Hamas attacked tanks of the Merkava Mk 4 modification, which are equipped with the Trophy active defense system (ADS) developed by Israeli company Rafael. However, no footage of the system working has been published yet.

The Trophy consists of a radar that monitors the approach of potential threats and rocket-propelled munitions that are fired toward the threats to destroy them.
