Estonia has allocated €10 million as part of NATO’s new initiative PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirement List), aimed at purchasing priority weapons for Ukraine.

The Estonian Ministry of Defense reported on this.

The initiative enables allies to consolidate resources to procure the most essential military equipment for the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

What exactly the Estonian funds will be directed toward is not yet specified. However, based on the funding experiences of other countries, priority remains on procuring air defense systems from the United States.

As part of the PURL initiative, allies are also allocating resources for ammunition, spare parts, and technical support, which helps maintain the combat readiness of Ukrainian units on the front lines.

The Alliance itself emphasizes that the PURL mechanism helps reduce the time between Ukraine’s stated needs and their fulfillment. By combining the efforts of allies, not only are decisions made faster, but arms procurement from industrial partners – primarily the United States – is also more cost-effective.

Militarnyi previously reported that Sweden, Norway, and Denmark will jointly finance a new NATO initiative that will provide Ukraine with priority American weapons.
