Drones Strike Oil and Gas Terminal at Port of Taman

Ukrainian drones struck the Tamanneftegaz oil and gas terminal operating at the Russian port of Taman in Krasnodar Krai overnight.

The attack triggered a fire at the facility, according to data from NASA’s FIRMS satellite fire-monitoring system and photos of smoke from the blaze published by Exilenova+.

The targeted site is the oil and gas complex in the settlement of Volna, which plays an important role in supporting Russia’s oil exports.

The strike likely ignited storage tanks containing crude oil and petroleum products.

The OTEKO Group operates the Tamanneftegaz terminal, the largest privately owned oil transshipment facility in southern Russia.

The terminal has an annual throughput capacity of approximately 19.9 million tonnes.

Its tank farm for storing petroleum products and liquefied gas has a total capacity of more than 1 million cubic meters.

This was not the first attack on the oil and gas facility. On February 15, 2026, a storage tank containing petroleum products caught fire after being struck by a UAV.

On January 21, 2026, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the oil infrastructure at Russia’s Port of Taman. The attack set four petroleum product storage tanks on fire within the terminal.

On July 25, Ukrainian drones struck the Tyumen Oil Refinery, damaging a diesel fuel hydrotreating unit and a high-octane gasoline production unit.

The attack also ignited a fire in the refinery’s tank farm, destroying one of the fuel storage tanks.

The Tyumen oil refinery is one of the largest deep-conversion oil refineries in Russia’s Ural Federal District.
