Ukrainian Defense Forces strike drones targeted an oil and gas terminal in Kerch and the Simferopol electrical substation, according to the Crimean Wind Telegram channel.

The overnight strike, carried out between July 5 and July 6, 2026, sparked a large fire at the Kerch port, where the oil and gas terminal is located.

According to photos and videos shared by local residents, the epicenter of the fire in Kerch was the area where fuel storage tanks are located.

The presence of a major fire was also confirmed by NASA’s FIRMS monitoring service, which detected thermal anomalies at 3:28 a.m.

The facility is located directly within the port operated by JSC AEGAZ-Terminal, a specialized complex for cargo handling and the transshipment of liquefied gas. The fuel terminal supplies fuel to vessels and services the Crimea–Caucasus ferry crossing.

The port is located at the following coordinates: 45.334917411391764, 36.46581422950134.

The terminal had been targeted before. On June 21, a previous attack also sparked a major fire.

In addition to the terminal, the 330 kV Simferopol electrical substation near the village of Mamak(44.92524, 34.20834), near Simferopol, also came under attack. The substation had previously been targeted on June 25, 2026.

The substation is part of the 330 kV transmission ring connecting the Zakhidnokrymska, Ostrovska, Dzhankoi, Simferopolska, and Sevastopol substations.

Militarnyi previously reported that on July 5, drones struck electrical substations in the temporarily occupied Crimea, targeting the city of Bakhchysarai and the village of Zymyne.

The first target was the 220 kV Bakhchysarai substation (coordinates: 44.75572583142488, 33.86363534125571), which supplies electricity to the Bakhchysarai district and surrounding areas.

The second target was the Zymyne 10/35/10 kV electrical substation (coordinates: 45.515133, 33.515204). As in Bakhchysarai, an abnormal temperature spike was detected at the site at 3:30 a.m.
