Strike drones attacked the military unit’s radar in the Russian city of Kovylkino, Mordovia.

The sources of Ukrainian Pravda state that these were allegedly Ukrainian drones of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

However, the DIU has not yet commented on this special operation.

The target of the UAV’s strike was the 29B6 Container over-the-horizon radar.

The receiving antenna system of the radar in Kovylkino consists of 144 antenna masts 34 meters high, 1300 meters long, and 200 meters deep. The range of air target detection is over 3000 km, with a viewing sector of 240 degrees.

The distance from the Ukrainian border to the site of the attack is about 680 kilometers.

The 29B6 Container dual-coordinate over-the-horizon radar is part of the air and space attack reconnaissance and warning system.

The Russians built the first Container radar in the town of Kovylkino in Mordovia in 2000-2002.

Local residents wrote in messengers that the sounds of explosions were heard around 9 a.m.

Videos capturing a smoke column at the site of the Container radar after the drone hit have also been posted online.

The first attack on the over-the-horizon radar in Kovylkino was reported on April 11.

According to media reports, the building housing the command post was damaged in the attack. According to the Ukrainian Pravda’s source, the aftermath of the current attack is currently being clarified.
