DeViRo presented the Bulava unmanned reconnaissance and strike system at the Defense Tech Innovations Forum 2025.

Militarnyi’s correspondents attended the event.

This unmanned aircraft system was created at the request of the Ukrainian military to strike at important targets of the Russian occupiers.

The system includes: kamikaze drones, a ground control station, repeaters and reconnaissance equipment that allow them to perform combat missions autonomously.

The X-shaped kamikaze drone is equipped with a warhead of various types weighing 3.6 kg. The most commonly used warhead is a Ukrainian-made shaped charge-thermobaric warhead.

According to Denys Cherednychenko, co-founder of DeViRo, Ukrainian Defense Forces have been using Bulava since 2024. The drone can engage ground-based moving and stationary targets, including armored vehicles, air defense and electronic warfare systems. So far, the drone has been confirmed to have hit Russian targets at a distance of 55 kilometers from the launch point.

According to the developer, Bulava has a total takeoff weight of 11.5 kg. The drone takes off with the help of a catapult, after which it flies with the help of an electric motor at a maximum speed of about 100 km/h.

With a length of 1.5 meters and a wingspan of 1.6 meters, the drone can stay in the air for up to 50 minutes, moving in the direction of the target or hovering in the air. The maximum flight altitude is 2000 meters.

The domestic attack drone has received a communication system that is resistant to Russian electronic warfare.

To operate at maximum distances, the drone uses MESH technology to transmit data via a drone repeater. This allows the drone to hit targets at a distance of up to 55 kilometers. If Bulava is used without a repeater, the combat radius is limited to 35 kilometers.

The drone is guided to the target through an optical station with a day-time and thermal imaging channel. According to the developers, the drone can be guided to the target defined by the operator independently using a machine vision-based system.

Thanks to its X-shaped configuration, the Ukrainian strike drone has high maneuverability.
