German engine manufacturer DEUTZ is starting a partnership with ARX Robotics, a company that specializes in ground drones.
DEUTZ explained that the strategic partnership is aimed at accelerating the development of defense innovation in Europe.
The company plans to become a leading investor in a new round of strategic financing for ARX Robotics as part of its expansion into the defense technology market.
The round, which other investors are joining, is expected to close in the coming weeks.
“Unmanned and semi-autonomous defense systems will play an increasingly important and central role for the armed forces of the future,” DEUTZ CEO shared.
The partnership involves combining ARX Robotics’ expertise in robotics and software with DEUTZ’s competencies in drive systems, decentralized energy supply and industrial production.
A separate area of cooperation will be the creation of an interface for connecting the Mithra OS software platform based on artificial intelligence to DEUTZ drive systems.
ARX Robotics will also have access to DEUTZ’s global production and service network. This will enable the prompt fulfillment of orders of any size, and the extensive international network of service centers will provide an additional competitive advantage.
In early September, DEUTZ acquired SOBEK, one of the leading manufacturers of drone drive systems. The acquisition strengthens DEUTZ’s position as a provider of complete solutions in the growing ecosystem of unmanned defense technologies.
The cooperation with ARX Robotics deepens DEUTZ’s strategic course to develop the defense business and expand its presence in innovative sectors.
In August, ARX Robotics presented Combat Gereon, its first combat ground robotic system, created in cooperation with Ukrainian partners.
The company also integrates Ukrainian-made turrets into its ground robotic systems.
