The Verkhovna Rada has passed a law that eliminates value-added tax on transactions involving the supply of ground-based drones.

According to the Verkhovna Rada, 294 MPs voted in favor of the bill in its first reading and as a whole.

The decision is expected to accelerate the procurement and deployment of such systems for frontline needs.

“The adopted amendments will allow for meeting the combat units’ needs for ground-based robotic systems, as well as improve the efficiency of budget funds during their supply to the defense forces,” the Verkhovna Rada stated.

The adopted law will be sent to the President of Ukraine for signature. It will take effect after official publication, opening the door for large-scale procurement of ground-based UGVs.

Ground drones on the front lines allow for reconnaissance, the delivery of ammunition, and the evacuation of the wounded without risking the lives of soldiers.

Ukraine has also already mastered the production of rubber tracks for ground drones.
