Bureviy Brigade Destroyed Type 75 MRL for the First Time in Ukrainian Defense Forces

The soldiers of the 1st Presidential Operational Brigade ‘Bureviy’ destroyed a North Korean Type 75 MRL for the first time in the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The video was published by the press service of the 1st “Azov” Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine on its official Telegram page.

The missile system was destroyed after it was detected and identified by a reconnaissance drone in the Kupiansk sector.

After identification, a drone with a munitions delivery system was launched and struck the North Korean MRL.

It should be noted that the 107 mm rocket system supplied by North Korea to the Russian army is a copy of the Chinese Type 63 MRL, which was designated Type 75 by the DPRK Armed Forces.

Depending on the platform, this MRL can have a different number of launch tubes: 12 in the towed version and up to 16, 24, or 27 in the self-propelled or ship-based versions.

The ammunition load consists of two types of shells. According to their identification and the Russian firing instructions, the high-explosive fragmentation shell is designated RSZO-107-OF (“파지-921”), and the cassette shell is designated RSZO-107-E (“107 산포”) with 15 submunitions.

The maximum known firing range is 8.6 km.

The Russians are also attempting to install it on vehicles to improve rapid deployment capabilities in relevant areas.

One of the 107 mm systems was thus installed on a UAZ-3303 to increase its mobility and effectiveness.

It should be noted that the rocket launcher itself is mounted on a fixed platform without the ability to rotate horizontally at large angles.

The preparation of this system for installation did not require any significant changes: the wheels of the trailer on which the launcher was mounted were removed, and the structure in this form was simply welded to an additional structure of the vehicle body.
