The German Army has ordered 149 mobile medical stations from Rheinmetall, which Ukraine has been using since 2023.
Hartpunkt reported on this.
BAAINBw, the Bundeswehr’s procurement office, has commissioned Rheinmetall Project Solutions GmbH to supply the stations under a framework agreement signed in December 2024.
Of the 149 stabilization stations currently ordered, 112 units will be purchased in a version with ballistic protection, while the rest will be unarmored.

According to a statement from BAAINBw, the medical stations are a subproject of the large-scale Modular Medical Facilities (MSE) project.
The newly designated stabilization points are part of the MSE and represent the first level of NATO’s DHS (Deployment Health Surveillance) program. This level focuses on emergency surgery and primary care, which will be provided at the ordered facilities.
“The new stations will serve as the first point of contact for wounded soldiers. The care provided there is crucial for saving lives, as the current war in Ukraine demonstrates,” the statement reads.
According to BAAINBw, each mobile medical station consists of two containers, a connecting element, and the necessary transport component. All necessary medical equipment is transported on the rescue station.
The facility and its personnel can be rapidly transported, set up, and operated. In this way, medical services can directly follow the troops.
Ukraine has been using them since September 2023. Rheinmetall received an order for two field surgical stations for Ukraine in June of that year.
