An analog of the Carl Gustaf grenade launcher was presented in China

In China, a new recoilless grenade launcher PBW001E, which resembles the Carl Gustaf, was demonstrated at a defense exhibition.

The exhibition also showcased ammunition for it, including an anti-drone munition that releases a net.

The Chinese company Hebei Yanxing Machinery Company launched mass production of these grenade launchers in 2023.

This is a research and production plant for the manufacture of recoilless weapons in China.

It is possible that the 82-mm PBW001E grenade launcher will be put into service with the infantry of the People’s Liberation Army of China.

The grenade launcher is made of carbon fiber and titanium alloy.

The PBW001E visually resembles the Swedish Carl Gustaf grenade launcher, which also consists of a rifled barrel with a breech.

Both grenade launchers also have a firing mechanism, a firing pin and a sight.

The breech contains a nozzle and a bell connected to the barrel by a hinge.

To load the rifle, turn the breech ring and tilt it to the left and up along the longitudinal axis, load a shot and cock it. The firing pin is mounted in a tube on the right side of the barrel.

The grenade launcher is designed to combat armored vehicles, destroy enemy manpower in light shelters and firing positions, as well as to create smoke screens and illuminate the area.

This year, the Swedish company Saab received an order from NATO to supply Carl Gustaf reusable grenade launchers.
