Fire Point unveiled its own machine tools for rocket engine production at the Eurosatory international defense exhibition in Paris.
This was reported by Militarnyi’s correspondent at Eurosatory.
According to Denis Shtilerman, the company’s chief designer and co-owner, the team was forced to develop its own equipment because purchasing ready-made machinery proved too costly and time-consuming.
He added that 90% of the machines used in the production of FP rockets are Ukrainian-designed machines, a significant portion of which the company manufactures in-house together with contractors.
According to the publication “Oboronka,” Fire Point enlisted specialists from one of Ukraine’s machine-tool manufacturers for this purpose.
In total, the company presented three types of equipment at the exhibition: the AKIRO/KUROSAVA winding machine, the WINDILINE universal machine, and an X-ray machine for non-destructive testing of products.
An in-house winding machine designed specifically for winding composite products. It is intended for processing components up to 10 m long, with a diameter of up to 1.2 m, and weighing up to 10 tons.
It is stated that the AKIRO/KUROSAVA machine enables the production of all composite components for the FP-5, FP-7, and FP-9 systems and is designed without complex imported components or assemblies, allowing for rapid scaling of production.
The high-tech WINDILINE machine is designed as a universal platform for the development of domestic heavy machinery manufacturing. The equipment can be equipped with a winding or milling head for five-axis machining of large-sized components and also supports the installation of a robotic stacking system.
The machine uses linear motors that combine high operating speed with precision. The dimensions of the working area allow for the machining of components up to 18 m in length and 2.5 m in diameter.
Key features of the equipment include a high structural safety margin, a modular design, as well as the possibility of further modernization and adaptation to specific production tasks.
Designed for 2D/3D X-ray imaging and computed tomography of tubular objects made of metals, composites, and reinforced plastics, as well as components manufactured using additive manufacturing. It enables inspection of products of various sizes with sub-millimeter resolution.
As a reminder, in May 2026 it was reported that Fire Point manufactures all components of the FP-7.x interceptor missile, designed to intercept ballistic missiles in Ukraine, with the exception of “one part.”
