On the night of Friday, October 3rd, the Russian army launched a massive combined attack on infrastructure facilities in Kharkiv and Poltava regions.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the enemy launched 416 air strikes on the territory of Ukraine.
The bulk of the attack was made up of Shahed and Gerbera attack drones – 381 units in total.
In addition, Russians used 35 missiles, including a record number of Iskander-K cruise missiles.
The defense forces recorded:
Critical energy infrastructure remains the main target of the strikes. Kharkiv and Poltava regions were the most attacked.
Sumy, Dnipro, Odesa, and Kyiv regions, where important energy facilities are also located, were also attacked.
Aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups and unmanned systems of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in countering the attack.

The Ministry of Energy confirmed that the enemy had launched missile and drone strikes on a number of energy facilities in different regions. In particular, the infrastructure of DTEK Naftogaz was hit again.
Rescue services and power engineers are currently working on the ground to eliminate the consequences of the attack and quickly stabilize power supply.
This is not the first massive Russian attack on the Ukrainian energy sector. On October 1st, Russian troops launched massive attacks on energy infrastructure facilities in various regions of Ukraine.
