Latvia has delivered a new batch of domestically produced drones to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Latvia’s Minister of Defense, Andris Sprūds, shared this update on social media platform X.

The shipment includes 1,300 drones and is part of an international coalition supporting Ukraine with unmanned aerial vehicles.

“Another 1,300 Latvian-made drones are on their way to Ukraine. With this delivery, a total of 12,000 drones worth over €17 million will have been supplied to Ukraine this year,” Sprūds wrote on X.

This delivery completes the contracted number of drones from Latvian manufacturers, which were scheduled for production in the first half of 2025.

The International Drone Coalition, jointly led by Latvia and the United Kingdom, provides the funding to purchase and deliver these drones. This initiative was launched within the framework of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format in February 2024.

The previous batch of Latvian-made drones, which Minister Sprūds also reported on, was delivered to Ukraine at the end of June. It also consisted of 1,300 units.
