40,000 Ukrainians Apply to Military Recruitment Centers since Feb.2024

Since the start of the Ukrainian army recruitment centers in February 2024, 39,488 citizens have received consultations, including 1,371 over the past week.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The defense ministry detailed that 8,300 people have already started the process of registration for military service.

“Every day, Ukrainians come to recruiting centers to learn more about the possibilities of military service. Today, there are more than 10,000 vacancies in various military formations, so everyone can find a specialty that suits their skills and experience,” stated Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk.

There are 48 recruitment centers in Ukraine, most of which are located in the premises of the Centers for Administrative Services, and 47 of them operate offline.

The centers are most actively used by residents of Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Lviv, Zaporizhzhia regions and Kyiv.

Recruitment centers provide exclusively confidential consultations, and mobilization activities, along with the delivery of summonses by notification groups, are prohibited on their territory.

Recruitment centers have reported recently a high level of female involvement in different regions of Ukraine.

The highest percentage of female candidates for the Ukrainian Defense Forces was recorded in the following regions: Chernivtsi – 46%, Khmelnytskyi – 42%, Ternopil – 38%, Rivne – 33%, Chernihiv – 31%, Odesa – 29%, Sumy – 27%.

In an online recruiting center that operates throughout Ukraine, this figure is 37%.

Attracting young people to the army

On February 8, it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are developing special military contracts to attract volunteers under the age of 25.

The details are not yet disclosed, but the president said that the special contract for volunteers will include many benefits and a very high salary.

It is also stated that the new contracts will be concluded for a period of one year.
