Over the past week, Ukrainian troops have inflicted significant losses on the Russian soldiers who are trying to advance toward the village of Terny.

This village in the Donetsk region has been on the Ukrainian General Staff‘s radar in recent days. In this sector, the military repels several attacks a day.

“In the Lyman sector, our soldiers repelled three enemy attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defense of our troops,” the General Staff said on April 6.

The other day, the Russian command sent a 9-unit convoy for an attack in this area.

Soldiers of the 95th Air Assault Brigade, the 60th Mechanized Brigade, the Azov Brigade and the 1st Presidential Burevii Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine joined the fight against the Russian invaders.

“The first 2 vehicles exploded on mines, and then the Ukrainian soldiers began to shoot the remaining vehicles with everything they had available – heavy artillery, Stugna ATGM, FPV drones etc,” the military said about the battle.

The released video shows the neutralization of several Russian tanks and the disabling of BTR-82 APCs.

Other footage from the fighting near the village of Terny shows Ukrainian troops neutralizing a number of other tanks and infantry fighting vehicles.

Previously, an Ukrainian soldier Stanislav Krasnov said that Russians were concentrating on the village of Terny and were trying to capture it.

“The situation is tense, Russians have been trying to storm for weeks. In the morning today, an attack was repelled, several enemy groups retreated. And so it goes every day. Now they are especially active at night, trying to avoid our UAVs and intelligence officers. But this does not help them,” said Stanislav Krasnov.

Invaders are trying to seize this area with further access to the Lyman. The Russians’ strategic goal here is Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.

“And the village of Terny is currently one of the keys to this goal. They accumulate a large armored group and try to break through at night. They fail, in most cases all their equipment and infantry are destroyed. But they are trying to advance at least a meter, to dig trenches. They do not spare infantry at all,” the military noted.
