The Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War developed a special Telegram bot designed for searching the information.
This tool allows finding information about soldiers who were captured or disappeared under specific circumstances.
Specialists of the National Information Bureau also worked on its development.
The Coordination Headquarters announced the news.
It is noted that to determine the status of the person in question, the identification code, full name, telephone number, and date of birth of the seeker should be submitted, along with the full name, date of birth, and identification number of the person being searched.
Inquiries will be processed daily by the National Information Bureau from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Based on the search results, you can get one of the current statuses in the chatbot:
1. There is no data about the person in the database of the National Information Bureau. If no information has been entered so far, the chatbot will offer to add this information.
2. The person is found in the database, but there is no information about whether the person is in captivity.
3. The person is found in the database, and the person is probably in captivity (confirmation from the International Committee of the Red Cross is missing).
4. The person is found in the National Information Bureau database, their status in captivity was confirmed by the ICRC.
5. The prisoner of war was released during prisoner exchanges.
“The chatbot makes it easier and faster for the relatives and loved ones to interact with government agencies. Ukraine is doing everything in its power to ensure that all the defenders come back from captivity as soon as possible,” the statement said.
