AHS Krab self-propelled artillery gun-howitzers, handed over to Ukraine by Poland, are already executing combat missions at the front.
This was reported by the press service of the Joint Forces Task Force which supported the statement with the photos.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are using the AHS Krab self-propelled artillery gun-howitzers to fight the Russian invasion forces.
In early June, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov announced that the 155-mm AHS Krab self-propelled artillery gun-howitzers handed over by Poland are ready to be deployed for the combat missions at the front.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine also received command vehicles for these artillery systems.
In addition, it was reported that Ukraine will sign an agreement to acquire about 60 Krab 155-mm self-propelled gun-howitzers.
AHS Krab will be manufactured by Huta Stalowa Wola, which is part of the Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa holding.
Deliveries will be made over the next few months. At the moment, the HSW’s production capacity is 20 to 30 units per year.
The value of the deal is approximately 3 billion zlotys. Ukraine is the first export customer of this type of weapon.
Polish Prime Minister stated that the European Union will partially cover the costs of purchasing the new ACS for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
AHS Krab is a self-propelled tracked howitzer designed in Poland. The licensed British AS90 howitzer turret is being used in the Krab’s production. The barrel length is 52 calibers. It is mounted on the South Korean K9 Thunder ACS chassis.
It is stated that the effective range of fire is 30 kilometers, and the maximum range is 40 kilometers. AHS Krab is manufactured by Huta Stalowa Wola, which is part of the Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa holding.
