The US State Department has approved the potential sale of military equipment and weapons spare parts worth up to $185 million to Ukraine.

The announcement was made by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.

According to the report, the US has approved the possible sale to Ukraine of Class IX spare parts and related equipment under the Foreign Military Sale program for an estimated amount of $185 million. The agency has already submitted the necessary certification to Congress with the corresponding notification.

The specific equipment and weapons for which these spare parts are intended are not specified. Class IX spare parts include parts and components, including kits, assemblies, and subassemblies (repairable or non-repairable) necessary for the maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery.

It is noted that Ukraine has requested spare parts to support equipment and weapon systems supplied by the US Army, as well as other related logistics and software support elements. The estimated total cost is $185 million.

It should be noted that the US State Department only approves the maximum possible amount of the sale. The actual cost and configuration of orders may differ from the request submitted and depend on specific contracts concluded with manufacturing companies.

“Ukraine has an urgent need to strengthen its local life cycle support capabilities to maintain high levels of combat readiness for US-provided vehicles and weapon systems. Spare parts will directly increase battlefield effectiveness by increasing overall readiness, improving logistics, and reducing the financial burden through a more sustainable and rapid repair cycle,” the agency concluded.

As a reminder, at the end of January 2026, the US Department of Defense signed a contract for the maintenance of F-16 fighter jets transferred to Ukraine.

The contract, worth $235,449,716, was awarded to the Belgian company Sabena Aerospace Engineering. It provides for medium and depot-level maintenance of F-16 fighter jets and engines, as well as logistical support for Ukraine.
