The United States used more than 60 anti-aircraft missiles during Iran’s missile strike on a U.S. base in Jordan.

OSINTtechnical published footage of the massive deployment of Patriot missiles.

On September 9, a spokesperson for the Jordanian Armed Forces stated that air defense systems intercepted 18 of the 20 Iranian missiles, while two munitions fell in uninhabited areas.

Given that each PAC-3 MSE interceptor costs approximately $4 million, the missiles used during this operation likely cost between $240 million and over $400 million.

“Iran’s response proved ineffective against an integrated air and missile defense system… Iran fired missiles toward Jordan. U.S. forces bear 100% responsibility for all facilities on Jordanian territory,” an unnamed U.S. official shared with ABC News.

Given current rates of stockpile depletion, repeated attacks could quickly deplete the stockpiles, which would take years of production to replenish.

The Iranian missiles targeted Muwaffaq Salti, also known as Al-Azraq Air Base, where U.S. aircraft and personnel are stationed.

Iran launched the strike after the U.S. military attacked five Iranian oil tankers in response to strikes by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on a U.S. Navy ship.

Iran’s missile strike on the base in Jordan damaged nine U.S. Air Force aircraft.

According to a July study by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), amid the U.S. war with Iran, the stockpile of missiles for the Patriot systems has dwindled to fewer than 1,000 units.

In July, amid ongoing concerns about the depletion of anti-aircraft missile stocks due to the war with Iran, the U.S. military purchased new PAC-2 missiles for the first time in over 30 years.

On August 31, the Pentagon signed 7-year agreements to triple production of PAC-3 MSE missiles for the Patriot missile defense system.
