US launches massive strike against ISIS in Syria

The U.S. Air Force conducted 75 airstrikes against ISIS terrorists in central Syria.

This was reported by the US Central Command on social media X.

The strikes took place on December 8, 2024, and targeted terrorist leaders, operatives, and camps used to house the terrorist group’s personnel.

The strikes involved attack aircraft consisting of A-10C aircraft, bombing aircraft involving B-52 strategic bombers, and fighter aircraft with F-15E aircraft using precision bomb and missile weapons.

Since 2014, the U.S. Armed Forces have been conducting Operation Inherent Resolve, which was aimed at destroying ISIS terrorists in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon, but is currently limited to Syria.

The main focus is on air strikes against terrorists, their clusters, headquarters, and extensive weapons production in these two Middle Eastern countries.

In addition, they are training Iraqi security forces and conducting special operations. The US military units are not involved in this war, but are limited to the contingent of Special Operations Forces.

Along with the United States, France (Operation Chammal), the United Kingdom (Operation Shader), Australia (Operation Okra), and Canada (Operation Impact) are conducting their own activities.

In addition to these countries, allied aircraft from some Middle Eastern and NATO countries are also involved in air strikes, but this is done as part of the US operation and with maximum coordination.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the US Air Force had deployed A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft to strike Assad’s forces on the left bank of the Euphrates.

Taking advantage of the difficult situation for Assad’s army in Aleppo, Kurdish units from the US-backed Syrian Democratic Army (SDA) decided to drive the Assadites out of a small bridgehead on the Euphrates.

The involvement of American A-10 attack aircraft was needed to destroy the defensive positions of Assad’s troops on the bridgehead.
