An unidentified large vessel sank near Novorossiysk overnight on August 7.

The incident was reported by the Exilenova+ project.

However, official representatives of the Russian authorities have not commented on it.

In the Russian media, information about the ship is also limited to reports of the fact that it sank, without specifying the circumstances.

Exilenova+ speculates that the ship may have been carrying military cargo.

According to the project’s authors, this could potentially explain the lack of official comments and details regarding the incident.

The vessel was approximately 141 meters long. Based on its dimensions, its displacement can be estimated at around 10,000 tons.

On July 8, it was reported that Ukrainian Defense Forces struck vessels in the Black Sea near Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik, reportedly as part of Operation MoLoChKa.

According to a report by the Unmanned Systems Forces grouping, three vessels were struck in total on August 7.

Earlier, it was reported that six Russian shadow fleet vessels were struck in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov on August 5 and 6. They included two tankers and four bulk carriers.

It is quite possible that the sunken vessel near Novorossiysk is one of the struck ships.
