Ukraine Struck Vessels Near Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik

Ukrainian forces struck ships in the Black Sea near Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik, likely as part of Operation MoLoChKa.

According to a report from the Unmanned Systems Forces group, a total of three ships were struck on August 7.

Prior to this, it was reported that six shadow fleet vessels were struck in the Black and Azov Seas on August 5 and 6. Among them were two tankers and four dry cargo ships.

The maritime campaign, which began in July 2026, is part of broader operations against Russian logistics. It is being conducted in parallel with strikes on oil depots, energy facilities, railways, road routes, and bridges used to supply occupied Crimea.

A prolonged campaign to block shipping will create significant logistical challenges for Crimea, which will only intensify amid fuel shortages.

In addition, exports of oil, petroleum products, and grain will suffer a significant blow. If an effective blockade of Novorossiysk is established, the transport of cargo containers will also become significantly more difficult, which could further drive up prices for consumer goods.

As of August 6, as a result of regular Ukrainian strikes, Russian cargo traffic in the Sea of Azov had decreased by 90%.
