Ukrainian Troops Commission New Boats for Service

The Ministry of Defense has authorized the use of specialized boats in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Main Directorate of Support for the Lifecycle of Weapons and Military Equipment stated that some of the models are of Ukrainian production.

The boats are capable of performing a wide range of tasks in both open sea conditions and in river mouths, large lakes, and similar environments.

The design features of the Ukrainian boats allow them to be used in hard-to-reach areas, such as marshes, and on rocky or silty waters.

The boats have enhanced stability in moderate water surface conditions, significant load capacity, and a shallow draft.

Depending on the mission, the boats can be equipped with a bow turret, electronic warfare systems, sonar, gun mounts, mobile soft fuel tanks, and other specialized equipment tailored to modern combat conditions.

“These boats have already been tested in real-world conditions,” the Ministry of Defense stated.

In particular, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have authorized the use of RIB boats from the company AQUASPIRIT.

RIB boats (Rigid Inflatable Boat) are rigid-hulled inflatable boats that combine a durable hull with inflatable side tubes.

This design ensures high stability, lightness, and buoyancy, even in challenging weather conditions.

The military has received the SHERP the SHUTTLE landing craft to perform tasks in the northern operational zone.

Ukrainian troops have installed two Browning M2 heavy machine guns on the boat. SHERP boats help quickly reach the destination.
