The Ukrainian company Center of Innovative Technologies Program said that the ST-100 missile, which is being developed for the DRAGON air defense system, could also be adapted for use as an air-to-air missile in the future.
At the moment, the ST-100 is being designed as a small surface-to-air missile (launched from the ground to target aircraft or drones).
However, the developers are also considering adding a radar-homing seeker so that the missile could be launched from aircraft in the future.
They also say it may eventually be launched from large drones.
However, work on a version of the missile for other uses has not started yet.
The planned ground-launched version of the ST-100 is expected to have a range of up to 10 km. Like the other missiles in the DRAGON air defense system, it will use infrared guidance, meaning it will lock onto the heat emitted by targets such as aircraft or drones.
