In March, the soldiers of the 6th Ranger Regiment of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted an operation against North Korean troops in the Kursk region, who are fighting on the side of Russia.
This was reported by the Special Operations Command and a video of the battle was released.
It is stated that during a quick contact battle, the Special Operations Forces soldiers had killed 25 North Koreans.
These events took place last month, but due to operational security, the Special Operations Forces decided to talk about it and show the video from the drone and the body cameras of Ukrainian soldiers only now.
“Eight rangers in an armored Humvee moved behind enemy lines with the support of reconnaissance drones, came to the range of direct fire and took up favorable firing positions in the trenches,” the command of the Special Forces said.
After that, the Special Operations Forces fighters started a close combat against a 25-member platoon three times larger than the enemy.
The Ukrainian soldiers maintained the initiative until the end of the battle.
The video shows the soldiers firing from small arms and a grenade launcher.
“Despite the numerical superiority of the enemy and enemy artillery fire, the Ukrainian soldiers proved the superiority of quality over quantity and did not leave the entire DPRK platoon a chance during the contact,” the command said.
The unit retreated after successfully completing the combat mission. One soldier of the Special Operations Forces, who suffered a shrapnel wound, was given first aid on the spot. His life is not in danger.
The footage shows a liquidated DPRK soldier and his personal documents, which were taken by Ukrainian soldiers.
In April, the soldiers of the 3rd Separate Regiment of the Special Operations Forces showed footage of the clearing of a part of the village of Kotlyne, near Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, from the occupiers.
