Ukrainian intelligence services are cooperating with Tuareg rebels in Mali, in particular by training them to operate drones.
This was reported by the sources of Le Monde.
According to one of the rebel commanders, “sharing” with the Ukrainian special services is indeed occurring to explore potential cooperation between both sides.
According to Le Monde’s sources, the Ukrainian government provides strategic information to the rebels in Mali and trains them to use drones.
“We have ties with the Ukrainians, but so do the French, the Americans and the rest,” admitted CSP-DPA spokesman Mohamed Elmaouloud Ramadane.
According to the source, some Malian rebels were trained in Ukraine.
As a reminder, recently, Tuareg rebels in Mali announced that they had killed 84 Russian mercenaries from the Wagner terrorist group and 47 Malian soldiers in three days.
According to the rebels, more than 30 enemy soldiers were wounded, and their military equipment, including tanks, weapons and vehicles, was captured or destroyed. Seven Wagner and Malian soldiers were taken prisoner.
Previously, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Andrii Yusov, said that the rebels had received “information, and not only information,” which allowed them to defeat the Wagnerites in Mali.
He did not give any details, but assured that “it will continue.”
In addition, long before the defeat of the Wagnerites, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky outlined the main objectives for Ukrainian intelligence.
Among these was the directive to operate “everywhere in the world where there are and may be Ukrainian interests.”
