Equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be repaired at the facilities in Bulgaria.

This is stated in the message of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that agreements had been reached between the parties on the repair of Ukrainian military equipment in Bulgaria. He stated this following the meeting with Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov in Kyiv.

“In a conversation with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, we established cooperation for the repairing of Ukrainian military equipment at facilities in Bulgaria. This is very important for Ukraine. I am convinced that this cooperation will also be beneficial for both Bulgarian companies and the Bulgarian economy. Quality and short timeframes are very important to us, because we are fighting every day,” Zelenskyy said.

Zelensky also announced cooperation in the energy sector regarding Ukraine’s electricity supply to Bulgaria.

“Ukraine is ready to transfer electricity to Bulgaria. We are also interested in diversifying gas supplies in the region, particularly by taking advantage of the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline capabilities together with the Bulgarian side,” the President said.

According to Zelensky, agreements have been reached between Ukraine and Bulgaria on the transportation of agricultural products from Ukraine through the Black Sea port of Varna.

“Bulgaria will be absolutely happy to offer the port of Varna as a logistics hub, in particular for transshipment of flour and sunflower, and to distribute grain that you cannot distribute through your ports. We are ready to provide “Varna” as a central logistics spot for you,” said Kirill Petkov.

The head of the Bulgarian government said: “Ukraine will win this war.”

“And all democracies will stand for you. In my opinion, there is no doubt that this will be the only possible outcome.”

After negotiations with Zelensky, Bulgaria’s prime minister met with Ukrainian prime minister Denis Shmygal. According to the government, the parties discussed support for Ukrainian refugees, Ukraine’s European perspective and energy security.

Kirill Petkov has become another leader among Western countries that have visited Ukraine in recent weeks.
