Ukrainian Drone Strike Sets Borisoglebsk Airfield Ablaze for Two Days

Satellite images confirmed the successful destruction of the Borisoglebsk airfield in the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation.

The corresponding images were published by the CyberBoroshno OSINT analyst.

According to FIRMS satellite data from the night of July 4 and July 5, active combustion was recorded on the territory of the airfield.

The fire lasted for more than a day and was caused by a drone strike.

A comparative analysis of the images allows us to conclude that the affected area contained suspended fuel tanks, as well as other aviation equipment. Presumably, among them are control modules for UMPK air bombs.

The airfield is actively used by the Russian military as a base for Su-34 fighter-bombers.

According to available information, up to 10 such aircraft can be on the site at the same time.

In addition to the main site of the attack, satellite data also recorded several other fire centers, but the extent of the damage has not yet been accurately determined.

Recall that, in addition to the airfield, the Borisoglebsk Aviation Training Center for Flight Personnel was also attacked.

This center trains cadets and conducts practical flights to acquire fighter piloting skills.

It is worth noting that the attack on the center is not the first. Thus, on June 2, 2025, the territory of the educational institution was already under attack by drones.

Two servicemen died as a result of the attack, despite the efforts of the Russian Ministry of Defense to conceal the very fact of the incident.

The center was also hit in April 2024, when at night, at about 3 a.m., a strike drone crashed into the facade of the building at the level of the fourth floor. Approximately an hour later, another drone hit the same area. Then, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, a production workshop was damaged.
