Ukrainian Defense Forces liberate Piatykhatky in Zaporizhzhia region

During the offensive in the Zaporizhzhia region, the Ukrainian military liberated the village of Piatykhatky.

This was announced by Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, on Monday, June 19.

In the south, Ukrainian forces have launched an offensive in several directions over the past week.

In total, for two weeks of offensive operation in the Berdyansk and Melitopol directions, the units of the “Tavria” joint strategic group of forces de-occupied eight settlements.

These are Novodarivka, Levadne, Storozheve, Makarivka, Blahodatne, Lobkove, Neskuchne, and Piatykhatky.

“In general, the units in the Tavria direction advanced to the depth of the enemy lines up to 7 km. The area liberated in the south is 113 square meters. km,” said Maliar.

The military published a video from the de-occupied village of Piatykhatky. According to the soldiers, on June 18, the Russian invaders were knocked out of the village by the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade and 2nd Separate Rifle Battalion.

According to the Deputy Minister of Defense, over the past week, the Russian invaders have suffered significant losses.

“In particular, last week the enemy’s losses in all directions amounted to more than 4,600 killed and wounded, in addition, more than 80 fighters of the aggressor were captured by our defenders,” Hanna Maliar said.

Also, the defense forces have destroyed more than 400 units of various enemy equipment and weapons.

As previously reported, on Sunday evening of June 18, the Russian occupation “authorities” on captured parts of the Zaporizhzhya region reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had taken control of Piatykhatky, but subsequently the Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country denied that information. However, their statements appear to be untrue.

The Defense Forces of Ukraine in early June began offensive actions in several directions. However, due to the so-called “information silence,” which is now observed in Ukraine, visual confirmation of the liberation of settlements from Russian invaders is published a few days following the event, when the Ukrainian military manages to gain a foothold in new positions.
