The United States will supply more M142 HIMARS systems to Ukraine.

This was announced by John Kirby, the Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the National Security Council.

The White House is set to announce a new military aid package for Ukraine this week.

The new aid package will include additional HIMARS systems, missiles for them, and ammunition for artillery.

According to Kirby, the Ukrainian military is very efficient in using HIMARS systems to change the situation on the battlefield.

He said that the US would “continue to provide Ukraine with historic levels of security assistance.” Later this week, the administration will announce the next military aid package for Ukraine.

This will be the 16th aid tranche from the Biden administration within the funding framework approved by Congress.

Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi said that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States General Mark Milley commended the efficiency of Ukrainians working with missile and artillery systems, particularly the American-made M142 HIMARS.

M142 HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) uses a 6-wheel chassis of an M1140 FMTV tactical truck.

The system can be used as a rocket launcher with ammunition of different ranges and as a tactical missile system.

In early July, the Biden administration announced that it would provide Ukraine with four more HIMARS systems and precision ammunition.

In total, the United States has provided Ukraine with 12 highly mobile systems, including 4 new ones.
