Ukrainian Defense Forces Struck the Zuivska Thermal Power Plant in Donetsk Region

Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Zuivska Thermal Power Plant (TPP), located in the occupied territory of the Donetsk region.

The nighttime attack caused a fire in the plant’s machine room.

The power plant is located in the city of Zuhres, approximately 40 km east of the regional capital.

It has four power units with a total installed capacity of 1,245 MW.

Coal is the primary fuel used for electricity generation at the facility, while fuel oil and natural gas are used as backup fuels.

Under normal operating conditions, the thermal power plant meets approximately 33% of the Donetsk region’s electricity needs.
