France and NATO have tested equipment designed to counter guided aircraft bombs that Russia is dropping on Ukraine.
NATO representatives stated that the recent test was a crucial step in developing advanced air defense capabilities to support Ukraine.
The test brought together a strong alliance of international partners, including NATO’s Allied Command, the French General Directorate of Armaments, as well as key Ukrainian representatives.
Three key startups were involved in the joint effort – Alta Ares, ATREYD, and TYTAN Technologies.
The trials were conducted at a training ground in France and involved testing the systems under challenging conditions.
For several days, the teams evaluated advanced sensor systems, dynamic control technologies, and innovative methods of defeating simulated and real targets.
The participating companies are currently working to improve their systems. Critical updates are expected to be introduced in the coming weeks and months.
The Ukrainian delegation envisions the possibility of deploying these systems to counter aircraft bombs by the end of 2025.
Alta Ares is developing an artificial intelligence recognition system capable of rapidly detecting airborne targets.
ATREYD specializes in autonomous drones, while TYTAN Technologies also works with artificial intelligence and drones capable of intercepting air targets.
These companies’ products partially reveal the essence of the technology being prepared to combat guided aerial bombs. It is likely to be an inexpensive drone capable of detecting and targeting a bomb in the air on its own.
Ukraine is in immediate need of such technology. It is reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces are now actively conducting a massive air attack on the second line of defense of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the area between Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka.
