Ukraine’s Domestic Baton Strike Drone Can Hit Targets at Up to 90 Km

New details have emerged about Ukraine’s domestic Baton strike drone.

The UAV features an airplane-type fuselage with a straight wing and two electric motors. The system is designed to strike firing positions, logistics facilities and other enemy targets at tactical depth, at distances of up to 90 kilometers.

Baton can remain airborne for up to 50 minutes. Its cruising speed is 105 kph, while its maximum speed is 140 kph.
Its operational flight altitude ranges from 150 to 500 meters, with a maximum altitude of 1,500 meters.

The drone is equipped with an autonomous terminal guidance system that enables it to acquire a target and automatically fly toward it from a distance of up to 2 kilometers and an altitude of up to 500 meters.

An autonomous navigation system enables the drone to follow a predetermined route and determine its position in real time.

Depending on the modification, the drone can use an analog or digital video link, as well as LTE and Starlink communications. The operator controls the drone via an FPV system.

Thanks to its compact packaging, a single pickup truck can transport up to eight drones.

Preparation for launch takes about 15 minutes, after which the drone is launched from a catapult and controlled via a ground station.

Baton drones are already actively used by Ukraine’s Defense Forces and are being supplied by volunteers.

In late April, the Come Back Alive Foundation reported that it had transferred 592 drones of this type to Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence.
