As a result of a Ukrainian drone strike on July 30, at least 10 storage tanks were destroyed at the Taman marine terminal in the village of Volna, Krasnodar Krai, Russia.

Satellite imagery published by Supernova+ confirms the destruction.

Operators of the 1st Center and the 413th Unmanned Systems Regiment “Raid”, in coordination with the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), launched the strike.

The imagery shows burn scars and destroyed storage tanks at two separate sites within the terminal.

At the first site, at least eight oil or fuel storage tanks appear to have been destroyed.

At another section of the tank farm, at least two storage tanks were completely destroyed by fire. Several adjacent tanks also sustained fire damage, meaning the total number of destroyed tanks could be higher.

Previously, Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, Commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, reported that the strike on the Taman marine terminal had destroyed 12 storage tanks, each with a capacity of 5,000 tonnes.

Following the Ukrainian drone strike, the fire covered an area of more than 17,000 square meters, according to data recorded by NASA’s FIRMS satellite monitoring system.

The terminal is operated by the OTEKO Group and is the largest privately owned oil transshipment facility in southern Russia.

The facility serves as a specialized transshipment hub for the receipt, storage, and shipment of petroleum products.

The terminal has an annual throughput capacity of approximately 19.9 million tonnes. Its tank farm for storing petroleum products and liquefied gas has a total capacity of more than 1 million cubic meters (m³).
