U.S. Army Tests Bradley as a Carrier for FireAnt UGVs

The U.S. Army is testing FireAnt unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) deployed on armored vehicles.

The drone manufacturer Swarmbotics AI published the video.

Five such UGVs were spotted on the side racks of an M2A4 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) from the U.S. Army’s 1st Cavalry Division.

These robotic systems are currently in active development, testing, and refinement of operational tactics.

The compact 27-kg robot is designed to operate as part of an AI-enabled swarm.

The FireAnt can perform reconnaissance, communications relay, and electronic warfare missions, and can also serve as a strike asset.

For example, during an assault, Bradley could deploy a swarm of robots to enter dugouts and detonate inside, allowing infantry to move in and clear them without risking initial contact.
