Trump Orders Immediate Resumption of U.S. Nuclear Weapons Testing

U.S. President Donald Trump instructed the Pentagon to immediately resume testing of American nuclear weapons in response to Russia’s testing of new weaponry.

The American President shared this on his social media platform, Truth Social.

He noted that the United States “possesses more nuclear weapons than any other country.”

According to Trump, this was achieved, in part, thanks to the complete overhaul and modernization of existing weapons during his first presidential term.

“Due to their enormous destructive power, I hated doing this, but I had no choice!” – the U.S. President wrote.

He added that Russia ranks second in the number of nuclear warheads, and China third, but according to him, in five years, China could achieve parity with the U.S.

“Due to the testing programs of other countries, I have instructed the Department of Defense to begin testing our nuclear weapons on equal terms,” Trump stated.

According to him, the testing process should start immediately.

The U.S. President’s statement came amid Russia’s testing of the 9M730 “Burevestnik” cruise missile with a nuclear-powered engine and the “Poseidon” nuclear torpedo.

It is worth noting that in September, a submarine from either the U.S. or the UK conducted an unannounced test launch of a Trident II D5 intercontinental ballistic missile into the southern Atlantic Ocean.

The missile flew near Puerto Rico, where local residents could observe the characteristic glow.

The Trident-II D5 missiles are nuclear-capable and are only in service with the two aforementioned NATO member countries.
