Russian forces released footage of the strike on the Yahodyn Ukrainian border crossing in the Volyn region.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that a Geran-type strike drone recorded the footage.

Russia’s 50th Varyag Unmanned Systems Brigade launched the strike.

The target was located more than 580 km from the Russian border.

This suggests Russian forces used specialized relay systems or communication channels to transmit the video signal in real time.

According to the specialized Telegram channel Colonel GSh, the first option involves transmitting data through a mesh network using a mesh repeater or base station located in Belarus.

The distance from the Belarusian border to the Yahodyn crossing is only 55 km.

The second scenario involves using Ukrainian 3G/LTE mobile networks. Under this arrangement, the drone transmitted the collected data directly to a Telegram bot through a specialized Tracker V3 system, also known as Borshch.

A third possible way of obtaining the video would be to build a mesh network with a mesh repeater or autonomous base station deployed in Ukraine.

On the morning of September 13, a Russian UAV struck the locomotive of a Kyiv-Warsaw passenger train in the morning, shortly after a train carrying security advisers from several European Union member states and former European leaders had passed through the area.

It is possible that the diplomatic train itself was the drone’s target. It departed the station earlier than scheduled following an operational change to the timetable due to the threat of Russian strikes.

A dispatcher from the Central Monitoring Group detected the jet-powered drone, so an evacuation alert was issued 15 minutes before it hit the locomotive. No one was injured in the attack.
