Around 5:00 p.m., Russian monitoring channels reported an air raid alert and “launches of Storm Shadow cruise missiles” in the Bryansk region.

Local media initially claimed that “the missiles were shot down over the border regions,” but within minutes began circulating a version of events involving an attack by “jet-powered drones.”

“57 Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed over the Bryansk region. The governor reported this. There are no casualties or damage,” local social media channels wrote.

Videos capturing drone and missile strikes started appearing on social media, recorded by Russians over the Bryansk region. Local residents also reported a series of explosions in the industrial zone area.

Russian governor Aleksandr Bogomaz, as usual, claimed that “air defense forces shot down six aircraft-type drones” and that “there were no casualties or damage.” Meanwhile, the alert in the region lasted for over an hour.

According to preliminary reports, the Bryansk Chemical Plant in the city of Seltso was hit – a strategic facility of the Russian military industry, where artillery and aviation munitions, as well as components for Kh-59 missiles, are produced.

Russian social media channels also report the detonation of an ammunition depot on the plant’s premises.

There is no official confirmation of the attack’s aftermath from the Russian authorities at this time. It is only known that strikes on the Bryansk region are ongoing.

However, later, an official confirmation of the chemical plant strike came from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“On October 21, 2025, the Ukrainian Air Force, in coordination with the Ground Forces, the Navy, and other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, struck the Bryansk Chemical Plant,” the statement reads.

It was also reported slightly earlier that an oil depot in Crimea has been burning for four days.
