Russia Has Suspended Production of Kinzhal and Kh-32 Missiles — DIU

Russia has suspended production of Kh-47 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles and Kh-32 anti-ship missiles. Instead, it has redirected resources to increase production of more effective missiles.

This was reported by Major General Vadym Skibitskyi, deputy chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

“The Russians were able to ramp up production of ballistic missiles partly because they have now stopped producing Kinzhal missiles. In addition, they have suspended the production and use of the Kh-32, so the funds and components that were allocated for them have been reallocated to other types of missiles—which are considered more effective,” he said.

Production of these missiles was halted in April of this year.

The representative of the DIU also added that the Russians had been working to increase the Kh-32’s range, but had not yet succeeded. Therefore, the project has been sent back for further development, and its serial production has been suspended.

Skibitskyi suggested that the reason for halting production of the Kinzhal was that a missile deviated from its target by 30 meters or more.

As a reminder, Russia is exceeding its annual missile production target, maintaining monthly fulfillment at 110–120%.
