Russia Strikes WHO Medical Supplies Warehouse in Dnipro City

Russian forces deliberately struck a warehouse belonging to the World Health Organization (WHO) in Dnipro.

WHO Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus reported the attack.

The strike took place Friday. No casualties were reported. WHO staff were at the site before the strike, helping transport some of the medical supplies.

The team managed to move 130 of approximately 300 pallets and leave the site before the strike.

The medical supplies stored at the warehouse were intended for health care facilities in frontline areas, primarily for emergency response.

The WHO emphasized that damage to facilities supporting humanitarian and medical operations makes it more difficult for organizations to provide critical assistance to people and health care systems across the country.

Earlier, on July 2, a massive Russian attack on Kyiv completely destroyed a Ukrainian Red Cross humanitarian warehouse.

The strike destroyed 320,000 items of humanitarian aid and equipment, the organization said.

The total value of the destroyed property exceeded UAH 79 million.

On May 26, it was also reported that a Russian Iskander ballistic missile destroyed food supplies at a United Nations World Food Programme warehouse in Dnipro.

The warehouse held vital food supplies for residents of frontline areas.

At the time of the attack, the facility contained humanitarian food aid sufficient to feed 130,000 people. Its estimated value was $1.4 million.
