Unknown Drones Used in Attack on Russia’s Lipetsk

Unidentified drones were used in an attack on the Russian city of Lipetsk on the evening of October 24. Judging by the size of the debris, the drone may have been used as a decoy to overwhelm Russian air defenses or to reconnoiter their positions.

Local residents published photos of the drone debris.

Residents reported a series of explosions and air defense activity at around 11:30 p.m. local time. According to official information, there were no fatalities or injuries. No confirmed strikes on industrial or military facilities in the city were reported.

Igor Artamonov, governor of the Lipetsk region, claimed that debris from a downed drone fell in a parking lot on Bunin Street, sparking a fire that engulfed several cars.
