Russia is pressuring Alexander Lukashenko, demanding Belarus to join operations in the Kyiv-Chernihiv area and in operations against NATO countries.

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated this following a meeting with the heads of the General Staff, the Defense Intelligence, the Foreign Intelligence Service, and the Security Service of Ukraine.

Ukrainian intelligence agencies continue to document Russian attempts to draw Belarus into the war against Ukraine. In particular, additional contacts have taken place between the Russians and Alexander Lukashenko, aimed at persuading him to join new operations.

“Russia is considering plans for operations in the directions south and north of Belarusian territory — either against the Chernihiv-Kyiv direction in Ukraine or against one of the NATO countries — specifically from Belarusian territory,” Zelensky said.

The President instructed the Defense Forces to reinforce the relevant sector and present a response plan.

“Ukraine will undoubtedly defend itself and its people if Alexander Lukashenko falters and decides to support this Russian intention as well,” the President noted.

Earlier, it became known that Belarus is conducting selective mobilization as part of preparations for a possible war.
