Russia Attacks Orlivka Border Crossing with Drones

Overnight on September 1, Russian Shahed attack UAVs struck the Orlivka international ferry crossing in Ukraine’s Odesa region, on the Ukrainian-Romanian border.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported the incident.

The attack struck a building and the grounds of the border crossing. Emergency responders contained the fires that broke out after the hit.

The processing of passengers and vehicles at the border crossing was temporarily suspended.

Vehicles are being redirected to other border crossing points. Romanian authorities have been informed of the situation.

Border guards urged travelers to take this into account when planning to cross the state border.

Orlivka is an international ferry border crossing on the Danube that connects the Ukrainian bank with Romania’s Isaccea border crossing.

The agency added that Russian invading forces have already targeted this border crossing in Odesa region before.

Previously, Russia attacked the Vynohradivka and Tabaky crossings on the border with Moldova.
