The United States has destroyed four drug boats in the Pacific Ocean.

The U.S. military has destroyed four boats transporting drugs in the eastern Pacific Ocean, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced.

According to Hegseth, the strikes killed 14 people on board, while another suspect survived and was handed over to Mexican authorities.

The operation took place in international waters. The destroyed vessels allegedly belonged to drug cartels that used this route to transport drugs to North America.

This is not the first such strike by the United States against maritime targets related to drug trafficking.

The campaign is part of an expanding military effort against international drug cartels in the Caribbean and Pacific.

“The purpose of such actions is not only to intercept drugs, but also to eliminate supply channels and destroy vehicles used by criminal groups,” the Pentagon claimed.

The United States is deploying troops just 15 kilometers from Venezuela: the USS Gravely destroyer has arrived in Trinidad and Tobago.
