Technamm is offering its Masstech DC4 off-road vehicle to replace the French army’s P4 off-road vehicles.
The company presented the Masstech DC4 prototype at SOFINS 2025.
In the late 2010s, Technamm had already delivered 500 Masstech T4 light vehicles to the military.
French army units often use this off-road vehicle in various operations.
The Masstech T4 is based on the Toyota Land Cruiser HZJ 76, has a maximum weight of 3.5 tons, and can carry up to five soldiers. The vehicle has a hatch for a machine gun on the roof.
The Masstech T4 only partially met the requirements of the French army, so the company decided to develop the concept, this time using the Toyota Land Cruiser Series 79 chassis.
Technamm experts immediately clarified that the Masstech DC4 is not a cutting-edge vehicle; the basic version is unarmored.
Compared to the T4, the DC4 has a four-door cab, but an open flatbed platform is available at the rear, making the vehicle more tactical, as this space can transport various cargoes.
The standard powertrain is based on a 1HZ 4.2-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 130 hp.
Even though Masstech DC4 was presented at SOFINS, the vehicle at the exhibition is the first prototype, and its first tests are planned to begin after the exhibition.
Technamm is offering it to replace the unprotected command and control vehicles in service with the French armed forces.
In 2024, the company presented its new Fennec 2 army off-road vehicle at the Eurosatory arms exhibition in Paris.
