The United Kingdom has handed over a new batch of long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles to Ukraine to hit important Russian military targets.

According to Bloomberg, citing knowledgeable sources, the transfer of weapons took place recently.

The interlocutors noted that the decision to make the new delivery was made to ensure that Ukraine has a sufficient supply of missiles before the winter period. London believes that at this time, the Kremlin may intensify attacks on Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure.

The sources did not specify how many Storm Shadow missiles the UK handed over during the latest delivery.

The Storm Shadow is a precision air-to-air missile with a range of over 250 kilometers, capable of hitting targets with great accuracy even in difficult conditions.

It is used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to strike strategic enemy targets, including command posts, ammunition depots, and logistics hubs in the deep rear. The UK government traditionally does not disclose details on the number of Storm Shadow missiles transferred and does not publicly announce such deliveries.

In October, it became known that the United States had lifted the ban on Ukraine’s use of Western long-range missiles against Russia.
