The Antonivskyi Road Bridge across the Dnipro River in Kherson was seriously damaged after night shelling.
This was confirmed by the occupation “administration” of the region via Russian propaganda media.
Collaborationist Kyrylo Stremousov, a self-proclaimed “deputy head of the military-civilian administration of the Kherson Region”, reported that the bridge is currently closed after an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The relevant video appeared in the Russian media:
Yuriy Sobolevskyi, the First Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional Council, also confirmed that the Antonivskyi Road Bridge was significantly damaged. According to him, the bridge traffic is currently blocked. He is confident that the recovery work will take a long time.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed Antonivskyi Road Bridge strikes in Kherson, a city temporarily occupied by the Russians.
Natalia Humeniuk, the Head of United Coordinating Press Center of Security and DF of the South of Ukraine, joined the national telethon where she announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine maintain fire control over strategically important logistical and transport routes of high significance to the enemy.
“The work of our artillery is so delicate and precise, it’s rather aimed at demoralizing the enemy’s troops,” Humeniuk said.
The night before, messages about the bridge attack began to appear on social media and Telegram channels.
Eyewitnesses released videos featuring flashes and explosion sounds in the area of the Antonivskyi Road Bridge.
On July 19 and 20, the Russian invaders also announced the shelling of the Antonivskyi Road Bridge over the Dnipro River in captured Kherson.
The bridge has strategic importance for the Russian army. It is one of the main supply bridges used by invasion groups in Kherson to get to the right bank of the Dnipro River.
