Head of SSU office in Kirovohrad Region found dead

The Head of the Regional Department of the Security Service of Ukraine, Oleksandr Nakonechnyi found dead in Kropyvnytskyi. Law enforcement authorities are investigating the circumstances of his death.

Ukrainian Pravda, citing its own sources, reported that the body was found in the evening of August 21.

The press service of the SSU reported that the investigation is currently ongoing.

“The SSU and the SBI are studying all the circumstances of the death of the head of the Security Service’s directorate in the Kirovohrad Region. After the information is collected in full and analyzed, we will inform the public,” the press service said.

On January 16, 2021, Oleksandr Nakonechnyi was appointed as the Head of the SSU Office in the Kirovohrad Region.

It is known that in 2006 he graduated from the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine, after that he served for a year in the Vinnytsia Region, and was later transferred to Kyiv.

Prior to his appointment as head of the SSU of the Kirovohrad Region, he served for two years in counterintelligence and for more than 10 years in the Department of Combating Corruption and Organized Crime in the Kyiv Department of the SSU.
