The Belgian company John Cockerill presented the FENRIS reconnaissance and combat armored vehicle equipped with a 105 mm cannon.

The armored vehicle was unveiled at the international Eurosatory exhibition in Paris, which was attended by a Militarnyi correspondent.

The vehicle itself was developed by Arquus, a company previously acquired by John Cockerill.

The armored vehicle received the Cockerill 3105 turret from John Cockerill.

The FENRIS was created to fill the niche between light reconnaissance vehicles and main battle tanks.

The FENRIS weighs 26 tons. The vehicle can have a 6×4 or 6×6 wheel configuration, and its crew consists of three people.

The armored vehicle is equipped with a 500-horsepower engine and an automatic transmission. The developers also claim that the platform has been tested in combat conditions.

The weapon system consists of a 105 mm NATO-standard gun and a 12-round automatic loader. In addition, two additional ammunition sets are provided.

Additional armament includes two twin 7.62 mm machine guns, panoramic sights, and a system of external cameras with 360-degree all-around visibility.

According to the developers’ concept, the FENRIS is designed to perform four key tasks of an armored reconnaissance vehicle: long-range covert reconnaissance, mobile combat, direct fire support, and intelligence gathering.

The Cockerill 3105 turret is equipped with modern optical systems that allow for the detection of targets at ranges of up to 18 km during the day and up to 15 km at night. It provides protection against 25 mm sub-caliber rounds.

Last year, John Cockerill delivered a modernized Leopard 1 tank to Ukraine, featuring the new Cockerill 3105 turret.
